Vocabulary

suss someone out – to figure them out, or what they really want

eg: It’s difficult to suss the client out through a simple questionnaire.

to show someone – to disprove them or show them that they were wrong.

eg: I’ll show them, they were wrong about me. I will be a great CEO.

to stick it to someone (The man) – To show resistance to or fight back against the established doctrines of a person or body of authority, especially the government

eg: He was late, and the boss really stuck it to him.

eg: They tried to force us to agree to that terrible contract. Now they have no choice but to agree with us, so we are gonna stick it to them.

eg: We’re not gonna stick it to them just because they are in a vulnerable position now. If we are fair they will remember that and treat us fairly in the future.
