I want something nice to put me on . – I want something nice to put on for tonight. / I want sth nice to wear for tonight.

put me off – expression meaning sth/sb makes you upset of frustrated or you dislike sth

eg. It puts me off when my husband is always late for dinner.

eg. Stinky tofu puts me off.

eg. When my husband calls me in the morning to say that we have an important dinner that evening, that puts me off. 

acquaintance/s ( uh – kwayn – tince ) n. – a person known to one, but usually not a close friend.

eg. She and I have only met a few times, she’s my acquaintance.

My hometown is divided is two parts, the new one and the old one. In the old city they are some famous buildings with huge windows in front of the marina. That’s why the city has the nickname of “city of glass”. In this area are also one famous sea-view garden and an old legend castle surrounded by the sea. This castle is now a museum, but it was used as a prison during the Spanish civil war. The old city is also famous for its beautiful ancient churches and for its restaurants and pubs, where a lot of people enjoy the famous “Spanish tapas” and cocktails every weekend.
In the modern zone, the most significant things are the two city center beaches and the waterfront area.
The most important monument is the Hercules Tower, a roman lighthouse. It’s the oldest lighthouse in use of the world and is the principal touristic point of the city.
