Culture (cull – chur)

Spoil (spoyl)

Homesick: feeling sick because you miss home, or miss your parents.

Original:

In China, most people think parents are the most important for us. I also agree with the opinion. Chinese parents always give all to their children. When a woman is pregnant, she considers how to give the baby the best things. For example, milk, diaper, toys, books. When the baby grows up, she considers about education and social contact. They want to take more care of their children try their best everything.

Over-watered:  when you put too much water on plants and they might die.

Cactus:  a type of desert plant that doesn’t need water every day.

Lily’s Writing:

I find when I am in a good mood, I laugh very easily. The story between my ex-boss and I happened 1 year ago. Once in the office, my ex-boss reminded me that the plant on my desk was almost dried out, I watered it when she went out for a while. While I was receiving a call/ while I was on the phone, she came back and brought a big bottle of water to water my plant. It overflowed and a lot of water ran out of pot/flowerpot. I put the telephone aside, I couldn’t help laughing for a whole 1 min.  I tried to continue my telephone conversation, but unfortunately I couldn’t stop laughing again/ I burst out laughing again. All the people/ everyone in office laughed happily/loudly/noisily/cheerfully.
I miss that time, soon my ex-boss will leave for her hometown. I bought her a farewell gift to give her at a party next week. It’s a multi-use candle holder. The brand of the gift she mentioned once, it is her favorite one.
