Massage (mah – sahg)

Parlour (parr – ler)

Superstar/ star/celebrity/celeb/ famous people/movie star/famous singer

Director: the person who directs the film.

Eg. The director will invite his friends to see his latest movie.

Actor/ actress: only for movies/television.

Eg.  We always saw that/an actor on the tv show.

Neck/Shoulders/Upper back/ mid back/ lower back

TCM=Traditional Chinese Medicine (Doctor)

Pulse:  your heartbeat (you can feel it on your neck and on your wrists.)

Eg.  The traditional Chinese medicine doctor likes to feel the patients pulse.

Period:  once a month for women.

Eg.  Every woman has a period every month.

Acupuncture:  TCM, uses small needles to increase blood flow and heal you.

Eg.  The traditional Chinese medicine doctor will do acupunctured on their patients.

Bland:  plain, not a lot of flavour.

Eg.  If your stomach is not comfortable you should eat more bland food.

Metabolism (meh – tah – bowl – ism):  the rate you digest food.

Eg.  My metabolism is very slow.
