Vocabulary

ethnicity – what culture or country you’re from

e.g. Sam is of Chinese ethnicity.

racism – discrimination against a race

e.g. A lot of the recent news regarding the USA has been about racism.

extravagant – crazy, in a luxurious way

e.g. Lady Gaga’s clothes are very extravagant.

recipe – a recipe is something that shows you how to cook something using certain ingredients

e.g. I don’t know how to bake apple pie, but I can look up the recipe online.

America plays an important role in the world. Me and my friends often talk about it. As I have never been abroad, I know little about America. Here is my opinion on America.

It’s a very powerful and rich country and citizens enjoy a high quality of life.

The economy of California is the largest in the USA, even larger than that of France. But there are lots problems in the USA. Gun crimes occur often and so many people are killed. Sometimes the locals look down on people from other countries.
