According to statistics, the number of Americans traveling abroad is not among the top ten in the world. Because America has the best national parks in the world. How lucky they are.

This August, I had the opportunity to visit great Smoky Mountains National Park for two days. The Park park covers a range of 500,000 acres of forest land located in western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee. It took me 5.5 hours to drive from Atlanta on Highway N0 75. The park is beautiful any season of the year, especially in autumn and summer.

Inside the national park, you will see awesome waterfalls, cool mountain rivers, wildflowers, and the glory of Fall as the tree leaves change to brilliant colors of red, orange, and gold in mid-October.

I drove across the park from Cherokee in the south to Gatlinburg in the north. On the road, I climbed to the highest point, Clingman’s Dome. There is beauty beyond description on the mountaintop and it’s totally free of charge.

At night I lived stayed in Gatlinburg, it which is just outside an entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. You’ll You’d admire it from for its scenic natural beauty, and amazing outdoor activities, and fairytale architecture.

Although, The park has no cell phone signal, the road is not developed, and the play facilities are not complete. But, it has been preserved in its original form. The American management of national parks is something worth learning from for the Chinese. It strikes a good balance between development and conservation.
