Save face (v): 1- to keep your reputation and avoid others losing respect for you.
E.g.: We said he left “to pursue other interests” to let him save face, but actually we fired him.

Islamophobia (n): 1- unreasonable dislike or fear of, and prejudice against, Muslims or Islam:
E.g.: Since the attacks, there has been an increase in Islamophobia and racist abuse in one of the UK’s most ethnically diverse cities.

Arbitrary (adj): 1- using unlimited personal power without considering other people’s wishes. 2- based on chance rather than being planned or based on reason.
E.g.: The company has been the subject of an arbitrary take-over.
E.g.: Did you have a reason for choosing your destination or was it arbitrary?

Tackle (v): 1- to try to deal with something or someone.
E.g.: There are many ways of tackling this problem.

STD (n): 1- sexually Transmitted Disease; an illness that can be passed from one person to another by sexual activity.
E.g.: HIV is an STD.

PSA (n): 1- Public Service Announcement; a message in the public interest disseminated by the media without charge, with the objective of raising awareness, changing public attitudes and behavior towards a social issue.
E.g.: The company released a new PSA to raise awareness on factory safety.
