Vocabulary

Scenario (n): 1- a description of possible actions or events in the future.
E.g.: There are several possible scenarios.

Feminism (n): 1- the belief that women should be allowed the same rights, power, and opportunities as men and be treated in the same way, or the set of activities intended to achieve this state.
E.g.: She had a lifelong commitment to feminism.

Activism (n): 1- the use of direct and noticeable action to achieve a result, usually a political or social one.
E.g.: The levels of political activism in this country have greatly declined.

Enlist (v): 1- to ask for and get help or support from someone.
E.g.: We enlisted some people to help prepare the food.

Deliberate (adj/v): 1-  to think or talk seriously and carefully about something. 2- (often of something bad) intentional or planned.
E.g.: The jury took five days to deliberate on the case.
E.g.: We made a deliberate decision to live apart for a while.

Convict (v): 1- to decide officially in a law court that someone is guilty of a crime.
E.g.: He has twice been convicted of robbery/arson.

Mislead (v): 1- to cause someone to believe something that is not true.
E.g.: He has admitted misleading the police about his movements on the night of the murder.

Quell (v): 1- to stop something, especially by using force.
E.g.: Police in riot gear were called in to quell the disturbances/unrest.

Imperil (v): 1- to put something or someone at risk or in danger of being harmed or destroyed.
E.g.: A police raid would imperil the lives of the hostages.

Blasphemy (n): 1- something that you say or do that shows you do not respect God or a religion:
E.g.: He was accused of blasphemy.
