Vocabulary

originally (adv): 1-in the beginning; when something first existed: first of all:
E.g.: It was a bedroom originally, but we turned it into a study.
E.g.: They now live in California, but originally they came from Mexico.

hint (n): 1-something that you say or do that shows what you think or want, usually in a way that is not direct:
E.g.: He’s dropped (= given) several hints to the boss that he’ll quit if he doesn’t get a promotion.
E.g.: Did she give you any hints about where she was going?

Sensible (adj):懂事, having or using good judgment; reasonable:
E.g.: She was sensible and easy to deal with.
E.g.: The only sensible thing to do is recycle.

Spoiled (adj)撒娇, A spoiled child is allowed to do or have anything that it wants to, usually so that it expects to get everything it wants, and does not show respect to other people:
E.g.: You’re behaving like a spoiled brat!

optimism (n)乐观主义, the quality of being full of hope and emphasizing the good parts of a situation, or a belief that something good will happen:
E.g.: There was a note of optimism in his voice as he spoke about the company’s future.

pessimism (n)悲观, emphasizing or thinking of the bad part of a situation rather than the good part, or the feeling that bad things are more likely to happen than good things:
E.g.: There is now a mood of deepening pessimism about/over the economy.
