a frontrunner = someone who is expected to win a race
Hillary was the frontrunner, but she lost to Trump.
skeptical = who has doubts, who doesn’t believe
My boss told me he would give me a raise next year, but I’m very skeptical about that because I know he loves to make empty promises.
Eurosceptics are skeptical about the benefits of being in the European Union anymore.

Polls can’t say for sure which candidate is going to make it to the run-off (the 2nd round)
a referendum = 全民投票 A yes-or-no question that the people can vote on
alleged = said to be, accused of
He is an alleged criminal = He has never been condemned but many people think he should be.
turmoil = chaos 混乱
During the financial crisis, the markets were in turmoil.
an establishment = a shop, an organization, a hotel / the rich and powerful people who refuse change
If you are sick, you should go to a medical establishment like a hospital or a clinic.
Why did Trump and Teresa May win? Because people are tired of the establishment.
