Review:
Stomach/ tummy/belly

*** in western culture, it’s impolite to comment on people’s appearance – unless it’s a compliment***
Heavy/ big/bigger/ strong/ large
Ex: The heavy woman is going shopping.
Figure/ build/ body type
Ex: She has an athletic build.
Stretchy (stret – chee): flexible, moveable.
the fabric is stretchy, I can pull it a lot and it will not tear.
Ex: the gymnast is very flexible and stretchy.
Briefs = tighty whiteys (spoken English)
Ex: The boys went running through the forest in their tighty whiteys.
jeans [jeens] (material) <>pants
thermal (thur – mull) underwear/wear: goes on top of your underwear, but under your clothes. – native English “long johns”
Size: s-m-l-xl- small , medium, large, extra large, double XL, Triple XL
“Do you have this in size s?” — crazy chinglish.
“Do you have this in size small/medium/large….”
“Can you get me a small one?”/ “Can you find me a small size in this”
It’s too small for me, can you change another big one for me – It’s too small, can you get me a bigger size/ The next size up. (clothes and shoes)
