Vocabulary

Synopsis (n): 1- a brief summary or general survey of something.
E.g.: I read the synopsis of the movie and I was instantly interested.

Intervene (v): 1- take part in something so as to prevent or alter a result or course of events.
E.g.: They think the governments is intervening in things that it shouldn’t be.

Emperor (n): 1- a man who rules an empire
E.g.: The Hogwu Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang, was the founder and first emperor of China’s Ming dynasty.

Dynasty (n): 1- a family of rulers who rule over a country for a long period of time. 2- the period of time when a particular dynasty is in power.
E.g.: The city was founded during the Ming dynasty.

Accountability (n): 1- an obligation or willingness to accept responsibility or to account for one’s actions.
E.g.: The protesters complained about the lack of police accountability in the state.

Advocate (v/n): 1- a person who argues for or supports a cause or policy
E.g.: He was a very enthusiastic human rights advocate.

Externalize  (v): 1- to direct (the personality) outward in social relationships. 2- to express feelings and emotions by putting them into words or actions.
E.g.: She thought it was very important to externalize her feelings.

Stigma (v): 1- a set of negative and often unfair beliefs that a society or group of people have about something.
E.g.: There’s a social stigma attached to receiving welfare.

Procrastinate (v): 1- to be slow or late about doing something that should be done. 2- to delay doing something until a later time because you do not want to do it, because you are lazy, etc.
E.g.: He was procrastinating online for hours, so he couldn’t finish the project in time.
