when I lost the ID card I have to go – when I lost my ID card I had to apply for a new one

every time I lost my ID card, I had to

it is not very convenient – annoying, a nuisance, inconvenience, hassle, a drag, a pain in the neck. time consuming. (focus on what it was rather than what it was not)

E.g. Getting a new ID card was a nuisance, because it was very time time consuming.
