F2F Class Notes 29th December (Jesse)

We don’t ask someone who has hydrophobia to be a swimmer. We don’t suggest someone who is visually impaired to be a driver. We don’t let someone who fears blood to be a surgeon. However, in China, people do try to persuade others to get married and have children without considering whether or not they are family kind of person or know good parenting.
Someone I know once told me:” Marriage is not for me. I can’t imagine what it’s like to live with one woman for a life time! I will never get married. ” I used to think this guy is irresponsible but now I realize that this is the most responsible point of view. I have seen plenty of unhappy couples who got married even though they were not sure whether they want to do this but their parents wanted them to. As a result, everybody got hurt.
Forcing someone who doesn’t want to be constrained by family to get married, just like pushing a hydrophobia into water. It does no help but hurt.
