e.g. There’s a lot of night markets in Taipei.

I eat many Thai food – I ate a lot of Thai food

Bangkok – the capital of Thailand

e.g. When Ricci went to Thailand, she passed by Bangkok.

Fingers crossed – (saying) good luck

e.g. Tanya is keeping her fingers crossed that Ricci can go to the US soon!

Korean girls are very fashion – Korean girls are very fashionable

To be vain – to care a lot about one’s appearance, about what you look like

e.g. When people care a lot about their appearance, they’re vain. Korean girls seem to be very vain.

Korea TV show – Korean TV shows

cruise – an overnight boat ride (doesn’t have to be overnight, but “cruise” insinuates that it is)

e.g. Last year, Tanya’s parents went on a cruise on the Nile. She really wanted to go but she had to go to school.

Ferry – a boat that takes you from one place to the other

e.g. Ricci told me there’s a ferry from Hong Kong to Macau.

Minimum – the least of something

e.g. The minimum fare for a subway ride in Japan is 10rmb!
