Vocabulary

overbooked – more spaces were promised than what is available eg: “Our first meeting room was overbooked so we had to relocate.”

legitimate – in accordance with established rules, principles,or standards. eg: “Some universities in America were not legitimate, so they were shut down.” “There’s not many legit Mexican restaurants in Shanghai.”

fraud – represent yourself as something that you are not eg: “He’s not a real doctor, he’s a fraud and never really went to medical school.” He told me that he’s a dentist but actually he’s a fraud because he is only a doctor for cats.”

ironic – something that goes against itself eg: “It’s ironic that China’s biggest problem is the population and it can only be solved by having more children to support the ageing population.” “Lots of girls like to wear make up because their skin is not good, but it’s ironic that wearing make up will actually make their skin worse.”
