1. how to remember new words

   – interest (has to be a topic or a theme you care about)

   – necessity (the degree to which you need to use certain words)

   – connections (between words or concepts or ideas)

   – exposure (reading, listening, researching)

2. talk about travel (using English when traveling) (next class)

 
abrupt = steep (literal meaning, as of a mountain side etc), impolite (figurative meaning)

anxious = ank – shus (14 in Chinese)

anxiety = engz – i – eh – tea
