Vocabulary

Pacific Ocean – between Asia and the Americas

Atlantic Ocean – between Europe and the Americas

Longevity – something lasts a long time

eg: “Do Chinese phones have good longevity?”

eg: The longevity of  a car’s tires depends on how it is driven.”

radiation(n) radiate(v) – fu she – found  in nature or a nuclear power plant byproduct

eg: “Fukushima in Japan is still leaking radiation into the ocean.”

ultraviolet – zi wai – purple light, or invisible rays of light coming from the sun

eg: “We put some sunscreen on our skin to protect us from ultraviolet radiation.”

byproduct – the excess material after producing something eg: “Our factory needs to reduce the amount of byproduct.”
