F2F Class Notes 12th December (Celeste)

– (Would you introduce yourself?)

– Sure. My working experience is over 10 years of HR area in total ,8 years in Pharmaceutical industry. I’m in charge of recruitment for all the positions in Zhejiang Province and part of Shanghai. In addition, I’m in charge of the Greenfield Plant in Hangzhou, (Pfizer Biologics). This is my 7th’s year with Pfizer. Before that, I was with Novartis as an HRBP for one year. My friends describe me as a really good listener and someone who loves to keep moving and get things done. I always do my best to be positive and look on the bright side of things. I love spending time with my daughter, reading good books and experiencing what life has to offer. So that’s me

– (Why did you leave Novartis)?
– It was 6 years ago. I was so attracted to the Pfizer branding that Pfizer is a big name in China .I heard from my friend who works in the Pfizer about the HR management in Pfizer was very successful and unique, In addition, I want to know why candidates always choose Pfizer over Novartis .
So I wanted to be a part of it. when the opportunity came. I didn’t hesitate to join .That’s why I left Novartis.
– (What is the best part that you like about Pfizer?)
– Pfizer encourages internal promotion in a big way. I witnessed a junior sales rep become RM in 4 years, which is very rare in other companies. A company like this cannot fail, and I’m proud to be a part of it.
(In addition, I endorsed Pfizer’s own it culture , that’s Pfizer’s core value , I really want to grow myself in Pfizer)

-(What can you offer which other candidates cannot?)
– When I was with Zhejiang FESCO, my role was a business one. I was responsible to bring business and need to reach sales target every month, and I was the top sales. Therefore I understand business people more than my competitors. Secondly I grew to have a mature personality. It helps when I need to deal with complicated issues and the situation requires superior communication skills. Thirdly I am a 6-year Pfizer veteran, I understand and feel proud of the Pfizer culture, and I have in-depth understanding of Pfizer’s process. The combination of my unique experience makes me a strong candidate for this position.

-(How successful have you been so far?)

My definition of success is to do what I want to do. I enjoy being an HR and I hope to be an HRBP. In this regard, I’m half way there.

-(Would you share some successful cases in your job?)
-Use “interview example #1”

-“What are you limitations?”
My English level is not satisfactory. I can use it in work environment but I feel the barrier is there. One year ago, I took private English classes and I plan to really study hard in this regard.

-(How much are you worth?)
-I make approximately 400k a year now. I would put career in front of pay.

-(What are your ambitions for the future?)
My ambitions are to continue to be widely recognized as highly professional and skillful.

-(How long will you make meaningful contribution?)
-6 months. I’m with Pfizer for 6 years, I know the culture, process and the people. What I need is to get acquainted with the new role and meet expectations of stakeholders.

-(What sort of relations do you have with colleagues?)
I’m very easy to work with as I give everyone due respect. When I work with senior managers, I tend to give them short but precise answers.

-(How do you think your boss perceives you?)
-Wesley appreciates my ability to handle a large/massive work load, as my annual offer number is 250, against 100 offers per recruiter as industry average number. He also understands my long term career goal is to be HRBP. He supports me in applying for this job. He frankly told me that my English needs improvement and I agree.

-(What were the things you like most and the things you like least?)
-I am proud to work in Pfizer and contribute in the HR department. I supported 250 offers every year and it is a challenging and rewarding job. The thing I like least is the fact that I still haven’t had the opportunity to work as HRBP, well not yet.

-(What things are most important to you?)
Professionally it is to make meaningful HRBP guidance and suggestions to help business grow. In life I want to make our family happy as I am a mother of 2 kids.

Tell me about a work situation that irritated you.

Usually I don’t get irritated because I matured.  Years ago, I would be concerned if my colleagues didn’t finish their part before the deadline but currently, I will offer them more supplementary time to finish it and I will tell them the project background. the reason why they should to do this project to motivate their passion for this work.
