Vocabulary

Off guard (adv): 1- unprepared for some surprise or difficulty.
E.g.: Trump’s election caught a lot of people off guard.

Interpretation (n): 1- the way something is explained or understood.
E.g.: We had different interpretations of the fact.

Vague (adj): 1- not clear in meaning : stated in a way that is general and not specific
E.g.: People believe his policy remarks were very vague.

Racism (n): 1- discrimination based on race. 2- a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race
E.g.: He suffered a lot of racism in his life.

Homophobia (n): 1- unfair treatment of people because of their sexual orientation; especially: unfair treatment of gays, lesbians, transexuals and other LGBTQ people.
E.g.: Homophobia is still a big problem all over the world.

Sexism (n): 1- unfair treatment of people because of their sex; especially : unfair treatment of women.
E.g.: Many people are fighting to end sexism in the government.
