How to manage your team member?
I will try my best to create a positive environment and give them good support for their daily work, so that they could work positively and effectively. For example, encourage them to talk and share their knowledge and experience between each other to improve the skills. Always make them pay attention to the effective working methods, such as before the sample making, check the request from BO in advance, and make notice for the supplier to the special requirement. As to some making issues always come out from some supplier, try to a different but effective way to guide the supplier aside from the comments, such as call them directly to find the rote reason and help them to think out the solution to improve the issues, or give them a training on our common requirement.

How to manage your time as senior?
As a senior, my focus will move from the style details to the whole view of P11 garment quality. So every day I should take the significant things in mind. The significant things are that may improve our teamsā€™ working effective, may be some risk on bulk operation, and may make our products better, and so on. Once find these significant things, make a schedule to talk with senior merchandiser, senior QC, BO, or suppliers to let the good things come out and bad things disappear.

How to make effective communication with Merchandiser and QC department?
Always think the issues from the whole view. Analyze the related factors and find the basic reason. Give merchandiser or QC the significant information and clear suggestion. Such as the supplierā€™s character, which category the supplier is good at. Then let merchandiser note their direction to arrange the orders. As to some process the supplier always going wrong, we must let QC note, so that they could pay more attention to it.

How to insist on your idea towards buyer and supplier?
Firstly I must clarify what I do is to support the buyer to get good garment. So my solutions are always for the designing requirement. If the designing is definitely unworkable, then I will explain to buyer about the reason. Maybe it is due to the machineā€™s limit or other objective reasons. Usually, I support the supplier to find the workable solution for our special requirement. What I insist on is the better quality and more effective bulk. Share a case to show how I insist on myself. That is about the Esquel shirt. As we know Esquel is a very good supplier with many kinds of advanced machine. But at the beginning, they canā€™t make the collar as fullness. I canā€™t accept. As high quality shirt, the collar is very important. It is must be fullness on the body. I talked with supplier and taught them how to make it. But I found it is due to that their automatic machine canā€™t sew the ease between top and under layers. Compared with other normal factory, I found they could improve their mould by adding some pad between the two layers. I send the mould images to them and talked about my thought. Thanks to Ms. Du, the merchandiser in Esquel factory. She organized their IT team and garment technician to improve their machine. In last Oct. when I visited Esquel factory, the guider told me the machine they improved is just for P11 requirement. I am so proud to hear this. But I found the machine hadnā€™t been improved as best. So the collar points are still easy turning up. At that time, I talked with their tech and suggest them adding small pad near the collar points. Finally I received the better collar from Esquel.
