Speaking exercise

I’m practicing the pronunciation on internet.
about half an hour everyday but my company is Chinese company I have to chance to use the English with my colleagues.
I want to change my job, I think the it is a foreign company so I should improve my conversation in English and writing in English.
In about a year.

I work for a architectural company, I am an architect.
apartments, commercial buildings and hotels.

I think speaking and listening have relationship. I think my listening is better than speaking. I can get what you said but I cannot tell it fluent in English.

it is because of the words.
Writing I didn’t practice.

most of the time I need translate the foreign designer concept to the Chinese client.
It is important.

For example Shanghai tower is the highest building in SH and the shape is special it is a twist shape it is like a dragon.
In China dragon is a very symbol so it means powerful, rich and so on.
It used hotel at the top of it.
The height is super high so the building is too high it will move with the wind so make it stable is very important.
at this building top they have a heavy stuff, they call it

for public buildings it is not a big problem but for apartments we always the room be square but for public building it is no problem because we need big space.

I think the shape is not the first thing we should think about. At first we should understand the site. Where is the main entrance, how high the requirement of the government and what the client wants.
and then what will it look like. / the outlooking.
The first thing is masterplanning and then the building floor plan. and then the elevation.

I’m practicing the pronunciation on the internet / online.
about half an hour everyday but my company is a Chinese company  / a local company.
I don’t have any chance to use the English with my colleagues.
I want to change my job, I think I will join / I target a foreign company so I should/need to improve my conversation in English / oral English  and written English / English writing .
In about a year.

I work for a architectural company, I am an architect.
we design apartments, commercial buildings and hotels.

I think speaking and listening have a relationship / are linked . I think my listening is better than my speaking. I can get/grasp what you said but I cannot answer fluently / I cannot express myself well enough in English.

it is because of the words / a lack of vocabulary.
I didn’t practice writing  / I don’t write much in English …

most of the time I need translate the foreign designer’s concept to the Chinese client.

For example Shanghai Tower is the highest building in SH and the shape is special it has a twisted shape it is like a dragon / it looks like a dragon / it resembles a dragon
In China the dragon is a very strong/special symbol so it means / it symbolizes power / wealth (n)and so on

The top of the building is a hotel / the top floors are used by a hotel  / the top floors are occupied by a hotel.

It is one of the tallest skyscraper in the world so the building is  so high that it will move with the wind so making it stable is very important.  / because the building is so high, it moves with the wind and the architect had to implement a special mechanism
at this building top they have a heavy mechanism, they call it  ….

for public buildings it is not a big problem but for apartments we always  want the rooms to be square / we make sure the rooms are always square.
but for public building it is no problem because we need big space.

I think the shape is not the first thing we should think about / is not the priority.  At first we should understand the site. Where  is the main entrance?
How low / high can we legally build? / what are the rules from the government about min and max height?

and then we think about what will it look like? / the outlook / the appearance.
form follows function.

The first thing is masterplanning and then the building floor plan and then the elevation.
