Vocabulary
the thing stuff in the needle is
I can hold my breath for 1 minute.
puncture – to poke holes in something
eg: The needle, needs to puncture your skin.
eg: I punctured my bike tire yesterday. Now the tire is flat.
shots / draw blood – a shot, is when a doctor uses a needle, to put something in your body
eg: I didn’t get a shot. But they took my blood. They drew my blood.
needle -long thin metal tube, used to puncture your skin,
eg: I think she used the biggest needle they have.
pill – small thing you can take (consume / eat)
eg: I need to take my pills.
eg: I took a painkiller, but I still have a headache.
Venom – a poison that is in animals
eg: Some snakes have venom.(N) Some snakes are not venomous. (ADJ)
antibody – inside the white blood cells in your body, these things will find harmful things in your body and kill them
eg: When you get sick, your body makes more antibodies, to help fight the sickness.
eg: Snake anti-venom helps you produce more antibodies.
chlorine – a strong chemical to help keep pools clean
eg: I wear goggles because the chlorine hurts my eyes.
a cover (version of a song ) – when another band plays a song that someone already made
eg: A band called “Me first and the Gimmee Gimmies” made a punk cover song of John Denver’s “Country roads take me home.”
