Vocabulary

I’m gonna go to NY to do some market research.

We are gonna do some opposition research on our competitors. (research on your opponent)

quantify – to put into numbers, especially for measurement

Can you quantify love?

quantification – the process of quantifying

eg: I have a fear of quantification.

benchmark – a standard or measurement of one thing, that helps you to measure other things.

eg: Our company’s sales benchmark should meet or exceed Loreal’s.

impulse buys – the products put near the front or exit of a store, for someone to buy without thinking too much about it.

eg: In the cosmetic industry nail polish is usually an impulse buy item.

Endcaps – a display on the end of an Aisle, often featuring new or special products.

eg: Their is not enough pumpkin stuff on the endcap.

subservient – serve someone in a submissive way

eg: Some Japanese women have been known to be subservient to men.

justify – to give good reason for behavior, even if it is bad

eg: They justify eating dog, by saying nobody should be judged for eating any animal.
