Vocabulary

Anger (n): 1- the feeling you have when you are angry.
E.g.: I could feel the anger through his voice.
E.g.: When her parents said she couldn’t go to the party she felt a lot of anger, but later she calmed down.

Invent (v): 1- to design and/or create something that has never been made before. 2- to create a reason, excuse, story, etc. that is not true, usually to deceive someone.
E.g.: The lightbulb was invented by Thomas Edison in 1879.
E.g.: But I didn’t invent the story – everything I told you is true.

Invention (n): 1- something that has never been made before, or the process of creating something that has never been made before:
E.g. She was the responsible for the amazing invention.
E.g.: The invention of the telephone changed the world.

Vehicle (n): 1- a machine, such as a car, truck, bus, etc., used for transporting people or goods on land, especially on roads.
E.g.: There were many vehicles on the road, so it took us a long time to get home.

Assignment (n): 1- a piece of work that someone, like your teacher, gives for you to do.
E.g.: I have a lot of reading assignments to finish before the end of week.

1800s = eighteen hundreds
1900s = nineteen hundreds
2000s = two thousands
