Discuss why it is good for us to learn about the past and future. Give me some examples for each.

Vocabulary

explorer – people who travel to places where no one has ever been to

ex. Christopher Columbus was an explorer who discovered the New World.

fossils – rocks with trapped prints of dead ancient animals or plants

curious – interested in finding out more about something

great grandparents – grandparent’s parents

extinct – not alive anymore

ex. Dinosaurs are extinct.

global warming – a slow increase in temperatures around the world
