Task:Art classes, like painting and drawing, are not as important as other subjects, so some people think that it should not be a compulsory subject at high school. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

China has now incorporated art into the entrance exam to high school, which has aroused a heated discussion in society. Since art classes are never viewed as important as other traditional courses, numbers of opponents doubt that such kind of policy ought to be abolished. Likewise, whether art lessons are supposed to enjoy a status as a compulsory subject in high school is proposed by the public as well. As far as l am concerned, l’m against treating art classes as such kind of subject.
Albert Einstein once said:” Everyone is a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it’s stupid.” It’s true that human beings cannot live without decoration of art. Nevertheless, is there any necessity to place it on such a high level so that everyone is expected to be bred in art since childhood. Education should be respectful towards one’s interest and strength.
On the other hand, forcing students to take art lessons may have a side-effect. As time left for high students to do their homework is not sufficient enough, especially for those who dislike art, they are likely to bring their work to art classes so as to finish them as soon as possible. Thus, art classes, in most of the time, end up with a routine but not a lesson which is able to benefit students a lot.
In conclusion, art classes are not expected to be a compulsory lesson in high school, though it is important in our daily lives. If else, the repercussions are probably to the detriment of both students and art classes as a whole.
