Writing exercise

I was invited to a fashion show, called “art of reflection” and held by my company with the collaboration with Tmall. The purpose of the show was to present the lastest autumn/winter collections. Meawhile a live stream was provided on Tmall at the same time and every one could buy while watching.

I have never been attended this event before and I was so excited. The show was located in an art wharf along the riverside in Pudong and mainly consisted of two parts: an interview with guest and a runway show. Outside the building, there was a dedicated place for the interview and I saw many well known pop stars and bloggers there.

The interview last for an hour and then all of us were asked to enter the building to watch the runway show. The stage was very surprising. It was located in the central of the place and surrouded by the water. The stage was composed of two cylinders with outside covering with mantle which was not that transparent and inside with white walls. The inside one was a fitting room for models to change the wearings. Models first came from the inside one, then walked in the stage between the inside and ouside one and finally ouside. It gave you a feeling from invisible to visible, and especially when models walked outside the mantle, you could also see the reflection from the water.

Although the runway show was short, it was very impressive.

The interview lasted (for) an hour and then / after which point / and afterwards all of us were asked to enter the building to watch the runway show. The stage design was very surprising / What surprised me, was the stage itself / The stage was particularly interesting in the way it was setup. It was located in the center of the place and surrounded by the water. The stage was composed of two cylinders with the outside being overlaid / covered with a material which was not that transparent / which was translucent, and the inside wall being white. The inside one was a fitting room for models to change. The models first walked from the inside one, then, on the stage between the inside and outside one and finally, outside. It gave you a feeling from invisible to visible, and especially when models walked to the outside layer, you could also see their reflection in the water.

For me, although it was a short show, I was quite impressed by the general layout and design, and I’m looking forward to seeing it again next time. / What a strange but impressive show.

The shape of the stage was square with a cylindrical part in the middle that was not transparent. Running around the outside of the cylinder was the catwalk which was separated from the inside cylinder by a transparent wall. Between the catwalk and the audience was water, like a moat for a castle.
