Prepositions:
I’m sorry for being late, I’m sorry I’m late
I apologize for hitting them (do not say apologize to hit them. The preposition is “for”)
I apologize to someone for something: I apologize to my mom for being rude.
I forgave him for his mistakes. (Preposition of forgive is “for”)
Ask for ( when you are looking for something and you requested for something)
ask about ( when you have a question)
