This passage pointed out many political reasons to this crackdown. Maybe it’s a conspiracy theory. It revealed deep/profound reason for the central government’s crackdown is that average Chinese people are very eager to realize common prosperity because the wealth gap. Recently, Tencent and Alibaba both come up with project that they want to contribute to the common prosperity by donation a huge amount of money. The former one accounts to 50 billion yuan, the latter one make a donation of 100 billion yuan. Maybe the tech giants tried to/are forced set example for other corporation.
