why I chose advertising industry

I’ve worked in the advertising industry for five years. At first, I just thought people who make advertising are cool, creative, and full of passion.

My fist job was project executive in a Japanese ad agency. I was responsible for building and maintaining the official EC site and Tmall site of a Japanese cosmetic brand. It was quite a routine job, taking clients’ requirements and asking designers and technical staff to complete these tasks. I felt bored so I changed my job.
My second job, which is also my current job, is in a mobile advertising company as a planner. I develop marketing and media plans, and create brand ideas for mobile platforms. Everything was new to me, so I learned news things everyday. I received and learn these new things greedily, and felt advertising appealed to me again.

I worked hard, created nice proposals, and got recognition from both my clients and my boss. I found I’m anatural fit for marketing planning. So it just took me 3 years to be a planning director. I was motivated and appreciated my new experience/my boss/this opportunity.

However, my company changed the business. No more cool ideas, and started to sought out revenue. We took a lot of case that even being not necessary to strategies, just all we should do is to ask media to provide proposals and integrate with them, which doesn’t make sense in terms of my career. So I’m looking for a new job, which I hope, could activate my passion of advertising that is lying down dormant in my mind.

Driving practice

I practiced driving yesterday, and this was the first time I touched a wheel. I was excited and nervous. When I drove the car, a real one, I felt it was easier than I thought, and I can just drive the vehicle outside of the driving school.

Initially, the reason to learn driving is because I think driving is one of the self saving skills. Like swimming, you can save yourself in a dangerous situation. You can survive from zombies if you can drive, just like what’s in the TV series.

Vehicles has been widespread in China, especially in tier 1 cities. In our next generation, driving will be a basic skill. They will get a driving license in their teenage, like developed countries.

Initially, the first reason why I wanted to drive is because I think driving is a necessary survival skill. Like swimming, you can save yourself in a dangerous situation. You can survive/escape/drive away/speed away from zombies if you can drive, just like what’s in the TV series.
