I was work overtime until middle night – I worked overtime until the middle of the night.

You can choose watch tv on the extra time – you can choose to watch tv during/in your extra time/ your leisure time/ your free time

Or you can choose read the books on the extra time – or you can choose to read books during your extra time.

The key competitor for me – competitive edge

Competitive edge:  sth you have that makes you better than the competition.

Eg.  My problem solving skills are my competitive edge.

When you was lazy, you will like the feeling of the lazy –

“don’t get too comfortable” = don’t be lazy

Never let you in a smooth situation.

last week, my work was under my control by myself. It was a smooth situation for me, but you never know what will happen next time.I got a bad news this Monday, which is I need to complete a task in 2.5days. Actually, the task need 5days to do it , maybe even more than 5day. There were hard work again. I want to called it as unable work similar like last time- neutral project.
Hard work always remind me that never stop the step.

Don’t be lazy/ don’t get too comfortable

last week, my work was in my control. It was comfortable for me, but you never know what will happen next. I got bad news this Monday, which was I need to complete a task in 2.5 (two and a half ) days. Actually, the task needs 5 days to do it, maybe even more than 5 days. This is the second time this has happened, and I must work hard again. I want to called it mission impossible, similar to last time- neutral project.
Hard work always reminds me not to be lazy/never stop moving.

Eg. In my control/ out of my control/ under control.

Eg.  This project is in my control = I’m in charge

Eg.  This project is out of my control = I have no power.

Eg.  This project is under control = it’s going perfectly/ it’s being handled.

“We knew all there was to know” about how to run a successful business

= we knew everything.

Eg.  When I first adopted my cat, I thought I knew all there was to know about owning a pet.
