Review:

not exactly – similar but not 100% the same. (not really/kind of)

  1. Did you make it to work okay?
  • Not exactly, I had a flat tire so I was late.

Eg.  Were these cookies easy to bake?

  • Not exactly, I ran out of ingredients so I had to go to the store.
  • Not exactly, I messed up the recipe so I had to start over.

Messed up: screwed up/ mistake.

Flat tire:  if a tire on your vehicle is flat, it needs air.

Tire:  the rubber part of the wheel on a vehicle.

wish:  you hope for something that is opposite of the current reality.

Eg.  I wish I was born a boy.

Eg.  I wish I could give them to you, but I don’t have them yet.

Hope:  You want something in the future, and it’s possible.

Eg.  I hope one day I can go to India.

Eg.  I hope I can get you those numbers by tomorrow.

I read a business yesterday, which is about how to build your brand as an intellectual property. You should continuously create premium contents for your audiences with your own style, and the content have to be original and useful for them. Obtain audiences’ trust, and then you can monetize through advertising or E-commercial.
It gave an example about a Hong Kong girl who loves cooking. She posted the picture of the meal she cooked on Facebook, and got thousands of “Likes”. She continued to post the meal picture and her recipes, and eventually she became famous and as a KOL in cooking field in social media. After that, she resigned her financial job to focus on “cooking”. She got more and more followers while at the same time, a lot of brand found her marketing potential and wanted to cooperated with her. She created an app, her own platform to keep recommending audiences her recipe in a more straight way-video. Now, she got her marketing team to help cash in on the “IP”.
That’s a good business story and we can learn a lot from it.
