Yesterday was Chinese traditional festival, Dongzhi, it means winter is coming. After the day, the night time will be shorter and shorter; the temperature begin to get warm. In Dongzhi, the north people is used to eating dumplings. It are made of pork, cabbages and gingers. we put gingers into the pork is because it can help us to neutralize the nasty smell. However the south people is used to having soup balls which is a kind of delicious dessert. Usually, it are sweet, but sometimes it could be salty. The flavor is depend on what main ingredients are, pork or black sesame with sugar. In shanghai, people choose the seame because shanghai people like sweet food.
