Both manufacturers who know and who don’t know their addicts can help dampen the addictive effects of their products in different ways. Companies that don’t know their users have an obligation to warn potential buyers if there’s a high likelihood of harm. The more visible and ominous the warnings, the more effective they are at preventing abuse.

addiction = a habit or practice which cannot be easily controlled or stopped, such as smoking, drinking, using drugs etc

to dampen = to limit, to contain

obligation = duty, responsibility

likelihood n = how probable something is

ominous = threatening, scary

I get a new job to be an administration assistant in Asia Click Licensing Incorporated Company. And it is my first day to work. Our company’s business is licensing our brands to other companies to use. These brands span from game to fashion, e.g World Warcraft, Over Watch, Paris Hilton. My responsibility is assisting administrator to investigate market potential, follow up business, translate files and make statements.My boss is a Taiwan woman who can speak English fluently. After I introduced myself in the morning, she asked me to sit directly opposite her to watch Video about our new brand.  I can’t understand this Video thoroughly because there was no captions.
