Open F2F Class notes 15th (Eddie)

to suck at something = (very informal) to not be good at something
E.g. I used to suck at math, but lately I’ve been improving.

to suck = to be bad
Junk food sucks.

This weather sucks.

I don’t find food as attractive as I used to.
I don’t eat as much as I used to. My stomach must have shrunk.
My appetite isn’t what it used to be.
I don’t eat as much as I used to.
It doesn’t take much to fill me up these days.

shrink / shrank / shrunk = to become smaller

motivation = a reason, or inspiration to do something

It sounds like you’re serious about it. = You are taking it (very) seriously.

Green Eggs and Ham – Dr Seuss 🙂

Original:
Junk food tastes good and most people like eating it. Although People know it’s harmful to our health, they can’t help to eating it. For junk food, I am not interested in it at all. Because when I was young, I had to work at night shift, so I couldn’t sleep well at night. It’s very harmful. After some time, I found my body was getting worse and worse. I should ate healthier food to make my health better. The most important reason is I like working out. I have already had three cards. I must eat healthier and fried and less oily food and many vegetables and fruit to keep good shape. If I eat junk food, my effort on gym wil go away/disappear. I hope every eat less junk food and go to gym often.

Junk food tastes good and most people like eating it. Although people / we know it’s harmful to their / our health, they can’t help eating it. I am not interested in it at all.

When I was young, I had to work night shifts, which meant I couldn’t sleep well at night. Not getting enough sleep is very harmful. After some time, my body started to get worse and worse. I realized that I had to start eating healthier food to stop things from getting really bad. The most important reason is I like working out. In fact, I like it so much that I go to the gym almost every day. I must eat healthier, which means less fried or oily food and many vegetables and fruit to keep in good shape. If I eat junk food, my effort at the gym will be for nothing / will be a waste of time (and money) / will be in vain. I hope everyone eats less junk food and goes to gym as often as possible.
