Vocabulary

detective – a type of police that finds information about crimes so that they can catch criminals

evidence – materials that can be used to show that sth is true or not

ex. Detectives collect evidence at the crime scene to help them solve crimes.

pursue – chase

ex. The criminal could not escape when the police pursued him.

apprehend – arrest for a crime

The robber was apprehended by the road.

property – things that you own

ex. My neighbour was not happy when strangers stood on his property.

enforce – to make sure people follow the laws/rules

ex. The police officer was at the road to enforce traffic laws.

ex. Many police officers arrived to enforce traffic laws.

interview – a meeting where one person will ask questions and the other will answer

ex. I will have an interview at the new school tomorrow.
