ex. Recycling is very important for the environment.

contaminate – when sth becomes dirty/harmful/dangerous when you mix it/put together with other things

ex. Some plastics cannot be recycled because they will contaminate when you melt them.

ex. Don’t drink this water because it is contaminated.
