Vocabulary

A Hike – A long walk
I went on a hike
I went hiking

chaperone  – the parent who goes to a party to watch the kids
I was the chaperone at the party

It slipped my mind – another way to say that you forgot

Clues – the facts that help you to solve a mystery
thief – the person who steals
The kids had to follow some clues to find the thief

Something came up – something happened to stop or delay my plan
My plan got derailed – my plan was completely stopped

Grammar

I will plan some travel to spend this annual leaves
I will plan a trip to spend this annual leave – trip is the popular noun for travel. Annual leave is an uncountable noun

This travel cannot be planned so early – OK
this trip cannot be planned so early – better
this trip cannot be planned so far in advance – more natural

COVID-19 will suddenly have some situation – OK
COVID-19 will suddenly get out of control – more natural

I used to take the annual leave 1 week or 2 week – not very good
I used to take 1 or 2 weeks of annual leave – better

I planned to have a hiking on low-tide – not very good
I planned to have a hike at low-tide – better
