Online Class Notes (Joe)

Questions about degrees according to perspective.

Structure: How + adjective + is/are something/someone [to someone/something]

We ask this way because we want an answer about the degree of the adjective. It may be ‘very important’, ‘not very valuable’ or ‘extremely expensive’. The answer to these questions often has an adverb.

Examples:

1) How important is the cat to you?

2) How valuable is the watch to a collector?

3) How expensive are cars for Europeans?
