Species (noun) –  kinds of animals or plants.
Lions and tigers are different species, even though they are both in the cat family.

Specious (adj) – it can sound true, but you will realize it’s false if you think about it or do some research.
Jack saw a black cat and then he had an accident. Now, Jack believes that black cats are bad luck. However, this is specious reasoning. Jack should think about all the people who see black cats every day.

Avoid (verb) – to take actions or make choices to keep away from a particular situation, object, or event.
Example: You can avoid getting sunburned by wearing sunscreen and a hat when going out in the sun.

Prevent (verb) – to take actions to stop something from happening.
Example: If everyone gets vaccinated, we can prevent the spread of the disease.

in the shade (fixed phrase) – a shadow that can keep someone or something from the sun
I went to park and sat in the shade.

shades of color (fixed phrase) – different kinds of a color
My favorite shade of pink is fuchsia

shady (adj) (when used with people or places) – not trustworthy
Don’t buy food from that shady restaurant.
