Homework

Using ‘hope’ and ‘expect’ can completely change the meaning of your sentence.
Please write about what you expect to happen in the next week and what you hope will happen in the next year.
Remember that when we “expect” something it means that we believe it will happen for some reason, while “hope” means that we want it to happen but we don’t have certainty about what will happen.

Writing exercise

Going to the office vs working from home:
It depends on whether I am buzy.
When I am busy, I would prefer to go to the office. There are two reasons. Firstly, it is more effective to work at the office, as I can communicate with my colleagues face to face. That’s very convenient especially when I need to show my colleagues how to using some tools in the work, and that saves a lot of time for contacting them and getting a feedback. Secondly, working at the office can help me to seperate my personnel life from my work, as when I leave the office, I won’t pay attention to the work any more. But when working from I have to work day and night.
But if I am not so busy with my work, I would prefer to work from home, because that can save travelling time and I could have more time for myself.
