savory (cracker) < > sweet / dessert (cookie / biscuit)

hommus – same in spanish but “ooomus”, it has a silent “h”

chick peas – the peas in hommus

Chapter 15 is about the end of summer, usually in big city you know when the end of summer because you counted every day that you have for holidays, but how in the farm they know? It’s easy, the crickets are who have this work. They sing a monotonous and sad song, remembering to everyone, including some plants, that the summer is ending.
For example, Fern and Avery, when they hear it, remember that school soon begin. Lurvy know it’s time to plant potatoes. Charlotte know it’s her time to lay eggs. The young geese know that they ever never would be little goslings, some plants like a maple tree, who hearing it that changed their leaves to bright red with anxiety.
