Vocabulary

directions – the steps you must follow to do or make something

eg: I bought a new TV, but I don’t know hot to set it up. The directions are in French.

eg: He is a bad student, he doesn’t follow directions.

eg: I bought some shelves but I don’t know how to build them. So I followed the directions.

FRY

deep fry (deep oil fry)

stir fry (normal fry)

saute (quick fry)

pan fry (pancakes)   make pancakes on the griddle.

eg: They lightly fry the jian bing on a round griddle. Jian bing is like a pancake.

PIZZAS

Quick and easy pizzas:

Ingredients:

Pita Bread or Tortillas (2X)

Pizza Sauce (not pasta sauce!!!)

Tomato paste, Water, Oregano

Mozzarella Cheese (Shredded or Ball)

Meats (cooked)

Veggies (on top of cheese)   (under cheese if GREEN)

Directions:

1. Put sauce on bread EVENLY and to the EDGES of the bread

2. Put green veggies under cheese.

3. Put cheese on top.

4. Put other veggies and meat on top.

5. Cook for 10 minutes.

6. Done when the cheese is melted.

I cooked some celery and meat – I stir–fried some celery and pork.

I let it sit overnight. (sits so it can ferment)

I let the dough rise. (rises from fermenting)
