Chinglish-y(like chinglish) Words – you should try to find some other words than these, because they are often used the wrong way.

Join – become part of the group

Chinglish: Join a company.  Join a party. – I started at that company. I started on Oct. 8th 2017. Go to a party, come to a party. I wanna come to the party.

English: Join the team.      We’re going out to dinner, do you wanna join us?      The new staff will join us for the new project.

Visit –

Chinglish: I will visit the great wall. Have a visit. – I will go to the great wall. (more common) .

English: I will visit (that person) / I’ll visit my mom in the hospital this weekend.      We will visit our colleague because she had a baby last week.

Try

Chinglish: Have a try. You can have a try. – Can I try? You can try if you want.

English: I wanna try that new Thai restaurant in Jing’An.     We can try a new game.

Stay /Live –

Chinglish: Which hotel did you live at?  My friend will live with me when she visits. – Which hotel did you stay at?     My friend will stay with me when she visits.

English:  I have to stay late at work tonight.    You need to live more, get out there and have some fun.
