Vocabulary

The room has no ventilation. It’s airtight.

The ventilation is poor.

The vent must be too far from.


To vent – to complain, to release your negative feelings.

eg: Sorry, I know you didn’t wanna listen to all that, but I just needed to vent.

airtight – there are no holes, (in the story, excuse, plan, alibi)

eg: His boss wanted to fire him, but he had an airtight excuse for missing work, and that would mean he can collect unemployment for wrongful termination.

eg: He’s on unemployment due to an injury. His story isn’t so airtight though, they will probably investigate his medical claims.

upon – 1. ON, (Formal)   2. Close or nearby.

eg: They built their city upon a cliff overlooking the sea.

eg: Spring festival is upon us, and everyone must fight the traffic.
