Vocabulary

the rich get richer

cut your losses – when you’re losing, quit or stop, so you don’t lose more

eg: You need to cut your losses and sell that stock.

portal – usually in the shape of a hole, will take you to another place,

eg: The portal to the site was down, so the IT guys had to look at it.

eg: Many movies overuse the cliche of creatures coming out of portals.

let’s be rational about this – use logic and not emotion to solve a problem

eg: We need to be rational about this news, even though we are all very upset.

a cause-effect relationship – when the effect is related to the action done to something

eg: I don’t see a cause effect relationship between bringing your lunch to work and

correlation – the connection between two things, and a change to one affects the other.

eg: There doesn’t seem to be any correlation with news and sales.  (not true)
