shade – the level of brightness (N) in a color

eg: I don’t know what shade of orange that is.

eg: They’re not the same shade of black.

eg: They are different shades of black.

bright (ADJ) – a lot of light

eg: It’s very bright outside, the sun is in my eyes.

eg: My shoes are bright orange.

eg: They are a bright shade of orange.

dark (ADJ) – less light

eg: It’s so dark, I can’t see anything.

light – a skin color,    not a strong color

eg: My skin is light, but darker than yours.

eg: It’s like a light pumpkin color.
