be blunt – to say something directly, very honest or your opinion, and does not consider the other person’ feelings.

eg: Children can be very blunt sometimes, they just say what they are thinking.

eg: My mother in-law is a blunt woman. She is very direct.

sugar coat sth. – make it seem better than it really is

eg: My mother in law doesn’t sugar coat it, she just speaks bluntly.

eg: Lots of people sugar coat it, especially when they are talking to their boss.

a blend – two things mixed together, such as fabric, or a drink.

eg: This sweater is a wool/cotton blend.
