walk a mile(1.6 kilometer) in someone’s shoes – to experience life, the same way as another person. To understand what their life is like.

eg: That movie was like walking a mile in Steve Jobs’ shoes.

eg: Before you judge someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.

judge V . – you decide if a person’s actions are good or bad, cool or stupid, attractive or ugly.

eg: Everyone will be judged by someone at sometime.

eg: You shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover.

eg: You shouldn’t judge him before you know him.

familiar – to know sth. or someone very well

eg: I’m really familiar with Beijing streets, because I used to be a taxi driver in Beijing.
